E-book Publishing
Self-publishing at a glance
Publishing a book involves multiple steps, starting from writing the first draft to producing and distributing the final product. Each step requires careful planning, collaboration, and execution among authors, editors, copywriters, publishers, and, ultimately, the readers to ensure the book is of the highest quality and reaches its intended audience. TWS Publishing will put 110% effort into making your book a success.
TWS Publishing Process
Writing the first draft
This process is undertaken by the author. However, if you would like to work with a coach to guide you through this process, we can provide that coaching for books written in English in certain genres.
- Idea Development: Brainstorm and outline the main ideas and structure of the book
- Research: Gather information, data, and references to support the content
- Writing: Write the initial draft, focusing on getting ideas down without worrying about perfection
- Self-edit: Review and refine the draft to improve coherence, structure, and flow
Comprehensive Book Publishing Package
After an initial consultation to discuss suitability and to come to terms on a contract, most authors begin their journey with us here.
Professional Editing (all levels)
- Self-Editing and Beta Reading: The author revises the draft and, ideally, shares it with trusted individuals (family, friends) for feedback and further revisions.
- Developmental Editing: This is a general read through the manuscript to look for gaps (logic, information, elaboration, etc.) and to suggest revisions, additions, deletions, or areas to consider further. The aim is to make the manuscript as engaging and accessible to the reader as possible. Once the author has made all final revisions (if any), we move on to the detailed editing.
- Line and Copy Editing: This is the deep edit of the manuscript. It looks for consistency in voice, style, language use, flow, pace, facts, and so on. It then corrects all technical linguistic issues (grammar, vocabulary, punctuation, syntax, etc.). The end result is a polished and tight manuscript ready for publishing.
- Proofreading: This will be done just before publishing the book, i.e. after formatting, typesetting, etc. This is the final step taken to make sure there are no errors anywhere in the book.
See our editing page for more details about these processes or to purchase any of these steps individually.
